The parent-child group will be held on Mondays.
FARMINGTON – The deadline to register for a new evening session of the Parent-Child Playgroup program, sponsored by the University of Maine at Farmington’s College of Education, is Sept. 30.
The evening play group, like the daytime session, is free and open to the public.
The new play group will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Monday in the Ricker Addition building on the campus.
Preregistration is required, and enrollment is open to all families of infants and toddlers in the community. There are a limited number of slots so registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The focus of the group is parents’ observations of and interactions with their young children, ages birth to 3. Parents must remain with their children throughout the sessions. It is not a drop-off program.
The groups will be supervised by Dolores Appl, a professor in early childhood and early childhood special education, and three or four students from her class, “Infants, Toddlers and Their Caregivers.”
To register for the evening play group or to obtain more information, people can contact Dolores Appl by e-mail at [email protected] or at 778-7507.
