LIVERMORE FALLS – Only three selectmen were present, but they continued to be close-mouthed Monday night about the whereabouts of Town Manager Alan Gove.

When questioned about Gove’s absence, since this was the second meeting he had missed, they said that he is on paid personal leave.

“The board will have no other comment pertaining to this issue,” said Acting Chairman Clayton Putnam.

When asked who was running the town, Putnam said the town would follow the usual chain of command, with matters now in the hands of the town clerk, Kristal Flagg, and board Chairman Bill Demaray.

Gove was on vacation the week of Aug. 4, the first missed meeting, and reportedly has been on personal leave since Aug. 11, shortly after the board met in a special executive session.
