CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A Concord, N.H., man who turned 40 on Friday is marking the occasion by running 40 miles on Sunday in memory of a cousin who died of cancer before he could reach his own 40th birthday.

Lawyer Ron Abramson of Concord has completed three marathons since he took up running seriously three years ago. Sunday, he heads out on a marathon-and-a-half through Concord, Hopkinton and Bow.

Abramson hopes to raise $10,000 for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of a cousin, Steven Fosk, who died of brain cancer three years ago at age 35.

Abramson says friends and family will join him for segments of the run.
