CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire’s moose hunt begins Saturday.

The state issued 515 hunting permits this year. The permits were drawn in a lottery. Fish and Game officials note that 120 antlerless-only permits were issued.

Each hunter is assigned to one of 22 wildlife management units in the state. Most spent weeks scouting potential hunting spots. Each hunter may be accompanied by one partner.

Hunters have nine days to take a moose.

Last fall, hunters took 482 moose.
