LACONIA (AP) – Operators of the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad hope flood repairs will be completed in time for New Hampshire’s busy fall foliage season.

Flash flooding this month did $1 million in damage to the line, which carries tourists around the Lakes Region.

Vice President Ben Clark said service is running between Weirs Beach and Meredith, but the track still is closed in other areas.

The company runs fall foliage trains from the Lakes Region north into the White Mountains.
