MADISON, N.H. (AP) – Police say more than $65,000 worth of rare books were stolen from the private library of a local estate.

The stolen books include hundreds-of-years-old editions like one by philosopher Thomas Aquinas dating from 1643. Police say the books were discovered missing earlier this month.

Among the most valuable of the books stolen are works by philosophers RenDe Descartes and Thomas Hobbes.
