CANTERBURY, N.H. (AP) – Thousands of Interstate 93 commuters had a tough ride Thursday morning.
A long stretch of the highway was closed between Tilton and Canterbury for most of the morning because a tractor-trailer carrying 700 bales of hay flipped on its side.
Crews had to unload all the hay before getting the truck back on its wheels. They also had to repair up to 300 feet of guardrail.
The accident happened on the southbound side of the highway just north of Exit 18 in Canterbury and traffic was detoured off the highway at Exit 20 in Tilton. The trucker said he flipped while swerving to avoid a deer around 1:30 a.m.
