LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) – A Manchester man and woman were charged Thursday in a case that began with road rage and ended with an attempted stabbing and two damaged vehicles on Interstate 93, police said.

Police said Michelle Biron, 29, was southbound in a Volvo when she locked her brakes and caused a pickup truck, driven by a 44-year-old Dunbarton man, to smash into the car shortly before 6 a.m. near Exit 4.

State police said that after both drivers pulled into the breakdown lane, Hugh Reynolds, 26, got out of the Volvo, smashed the driver’s side window of the pickup and threatened its driver with a knife.

Reynolds was charged with attempted second-degree assault, criminal threatening, criminal mischief and falsifying physical evidence.

Biron was charged with three motor vehicle violations and one count of reckless conduct and child endangerment.

Both were out on bail for arraignment Friday in Derry District Court.
