The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and state police have charged a Parsonsfield man with marijuana cultivation after searching his home Thursday evening.

George Boudreau, 46, was summoned to court on the charge. Police said the search of his home at 57 Maplecrest Road uncovered a marijuana growing room in a converted bedroom, complete with watering and ventilation system and growing lights.

Police said the home is owned by Caroline Lord, who also lives in the house.

Drug agents said they seized five recently harvested marijuana plants, 29 small packets of marijuana, two mason jars full of marijuana buds and some OxyContin tablets from the house.

The street value of the seized items was estimated at $6,000.

Parsonsfield is in northern York County next to the New Hampshire border.
