AUBURN – A Mechanic Falls man was indicted on one count each of kidnapping, domestic violence assault and domestic violence terrorizing stemming from an October crime spree running from Turner to Auburn and back.
Keith Chin Jr., 46, of 33 Dunn St. was indicted Wednesday by an Androscoggin County grand jury, charged with kidnapping his girlfriend, Roberta Voye, 44, from a party at Ricker Hill Orchards on Route 117 in Turner around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 5. According to authorities, Chin drove Voye around Androscoggin County and assaulted her several times before returning her to the party.
Auburn police were initially called to Central Maine Medical Center around 6:30 a.m. after Voye’s daughter brought her there for treatment for injuries. She eventually told authorities what happened, and the case was handed over from Auburn police to Maine State Police.
Voye suffered injuries, including a cut above her left eye, a bruise on her throat and pulled hair. Chin was initially charged with three additional counts by Auburn police, including criminal mischief and two counts of domestic violence assault. The charges in Wednesday’s indictment were brought by Maine State Police.
