BIDDEFORD – In police reports, she is listed as Sherry Little. In her obituary, she is referred to as Sherry Lynn Foster, a Paris native and mother of two sons.
Police say by either name, it is the same 38-year-old woman who died early Sunday after the Chevy Blazer she was riding in crashed through a guardrail and plunged into the Saco River in Biddeford.
An official at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, which is handling her funeral arrangements, said Foster is Little’s maiden name.
Her body was pulled from the river later Sunday after divers retrieved the submerged SUV. Police said she was in the passenger’s seat. The driver of the Blazer, believed to be Little’s boyfriend, 39-year-old Robby Harrison of Biddeford, has not been found.
Police said Harrison may have been thrown into the river, either on impact with the guardrail or after the Blazer fell into the water. Divers will likely begin their search Thursday, after the owners of the dam can open it and lower the water level, police said.
Police believe the couple had been in Portland’s Old Port on Saturday night and were on the way to their home when the Blazer ran through a stop sign and crashed through a guardrail on the Route 1 bridge.
Little lived in Paris most of her life and only recently moved to Biddeford, according to her obituary. Her parents, Bruce and Betty Foster, still live in Paris.
Little’s family members have declined to speak before her funeral, which is scheduled for Friday at Grace Fellowship Church in Oxford.
