Issue: Transfer and Recycling Station Manager Jerry Sabins wants some shade for his employees who must spend all day in the sun while they sort various materials.
The Scoop: Two bids were submitted to build a structure to provide shade. Selectmen approved the lower of the two, which was from Seacoast Carpentry on Marsh Road for $2,200. The project cost will be paid for out of the transfer station’s improvements account.
Planning Board questions business location
Issue: After accepting the bid from Seacoast Carpentry, Planning Board Chairman Denis Castonguay informed selectmen that his board has never given its approval for the company to operate at its current address on Marsh Road.
Up next: Castonguay will turn the matter over to the town’s code enforcement officer for investigation.
Managerial candidates schedule interviews
The Scoop: Town Manager Search Committee member William Fessenden told board members that three of the eight finalists for town manager have interviews with the committee. Two others declined, and three others have yet to be heard from.
