DURHAM – Three Durham teens were hurt, apparently not seriously, when the car they were in went off the road and struck a utility pole Thursday night.
State Trooper Nathan Jamo identified the driver as Brent Carver, 17, who complained of wrist and knee pain.
His passengers were Shain St. Amand, 16, who suffered a cut head, and Lucas Clavet, 16, whose injuries were not known.
Ambulances from Durham Rescue, Freeport Rescue and Lisbon Emergency took the injured boys to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
According to Jamo, Carver was driving west on Old Brunswick Road and lost control of his car on the soft shoulder, went off to the right and struck and snapped a utility pole.
Damage to his 1998 Mercury van was estimated at more than $5,000, and pole loss was assessed at $3,000 in the 9 p.m. crash.
