DURHAM – A scant 228 voters out of 3,402 registered voters turned out for municipal elections here Friday.

Elected to three-year terms on the Board of Selectmen were Timothy Asselyn with 131 votes and Wesley Bennett Jr., with 171. Daniel R. Hume was defeated in his bid, garnering 96 votes.

Incumbent Clifton Larrabee Sr. was re-elected road commissioner with 141 votes over Daryl Pratt’s 59.

Pauline Paradis, unopposed, was elected to one-year terms as tax collector and treasurer.

Three write-in candidates ended up in a three-way tie for a one-year term on the Budget Committee: William Morrill, Richard Hodges and Jonathan Snell each had three votes. Town officials are still working out how they will resolve that situation.

Three three-year terms on the Budget Committee went to incumbents Geoffrey Leighton, 161 votes, Allan Purinton, 188 votes, and write-in candidate Kenneth Scribner, four votes. William Morrill received two write-in votes.

Elected to the School Committee for three-year terms were write-ins George Szadis with 19 votes and James Beaulieu with six votes.
