Issue: Selectmen were told that about $89,148 in taxes was left to collect from 76 town accounts.
Storm water phase II
Issue: Selectmen approved spending $6,000 as part of phase II of the storm water management plan. The money will be used to finalize storm sewer mapping, provide training and prepare documents for annual reporting. The town saved money on developing an ordinance by using a guideline provided by Freeport.
Public works gear
Issue: Selectmen approved a $2,400 cost to provide public works employees with jackets, pants and rain gear. Although the money was not budgeted during last year’s town meeting, the need for gear is in the employee contracts.

BQMC use continued
Issue: Selectmen voted to keep the use of Boofy Quimby Municipal Center ongoing, despite it not meeting state codes.
The scoop: Earlier this month, selectmen voted to discontinue public use of the BQMC Hall because the cost to bring the hall, which is used by youth and community groups, up to codes, including handicap accessibility, was too expensive. However, selectmen reversed that decision after seeing how much need there is to keep it open.
Warrant article nearing completion
Issue: Selectmen reviewed the content of the town warrant. The warrant, which serves as a guideline for the annual town meeting, should be finalized and available to residents by the first full week in March.
New phones
Issue: Selectmen approved spending $3,495 to install new phone lines in the town office. Commercial Communications of Turner will do the work.
