Due to the snowstorm and the need for vehicles to get off the streets to allow public works to plow, Lewiston and Auburn police departments have announced parking bans.

In Lewiston, the ban will be in effect from midnight today until 3 p.m. Thursday. In Auburn the ban begins at 3 p.m. today and will be in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.

In both cities, police say vehicles parked in violation of the ban will be towed.
