LEWISTON – Police say a man robbed the Main Street Rainbow Federal Credit Union Saturday, just before the bank closed for the long weekend.
A few minutes after noon, police say, a white man, 20 to 25 years old, walked into the credit union at 381 Main St. and handed a teller a note that said he had a gun. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled.
The man never showed a gun, police said. Although there were tellers and customers in the building, no one was hurt.
Lewiston police are investigating.
Police say the man was between 5-feet-3-inches and 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighed about 130 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark baseball cap and had a one or two-week’s growth of beard and mustache.
Lewiston police ask anyone with information to call 784-6422, ext. 202 or 784-6421.
