Why are you seeking another term as a city councilor?
“I think this is a good opportunity, looking through the information, understanding it and passing what information is requested on to the residents in the community. I find it interesting, even with many disagreements or perceptions of the issues that people come to. That’s actually a good thing, as long as it’s done in a positive way or as long it’s used correctly. It’s OK to disagree. It’s OK to have different perceptions. I actually welcome it for my part because it oftentimes will open up different opportunities or issues where you hadn’t seen certain aspects of it before. You really get a lot of information out of that in making a decision and moving forward.”
What can you do to provide relief for Auburn property taxpayers?
“One is to encourage development, whether it be residential, industrial or commercial. I believe we have. In doing that, you have to realize that there is a cost associated with it and you need to check that there is a balance, and also the need. You want to make sure that things being developed are being used.”
Please rate yourself. What could you have done to make things smoother for the city, the citizens or the City Council?
“I feel that I have done a good job in doing my homework, in performing my due diligence with the issues – looking at the facts, hearing people’s stances on the issues and making the best decision I can with all the information available. I think I’ve done a good job trying to understand the issues in front of us, and putting some thought into them.”
