AUBURN – A probation revocation hearing for Derek Bo Dube, the man accused of breaking into Boothbay Harbor homes last summer and then leading police on two high-speed chases, was continued this week.
Dube had been scheduled to appear in Androscoggin County Superior Court on Wednesday. After his arrest in July, he had denied violating the terms of his probation as well as a host of new felony charges related to the Boothbay Harbor cases.
Dube has been on probation since serving five years in state prison on charges relating to a home invasion and burglary in Sabattus in 1999.
His probation officer, Normand Guay, said Tuesday that the probation revocation hearing was delayed while court officials decide how to proceed with the new charges facing Dube.
Court records note the probation case may be transferred to Lincoln County Superior Court, citing the pending and “possible additional charges” in that jurisdiction.
Dube is being held at the Lincoln County Jail.
He surrendered to police who had tracked him to a campground in Hampton Falls, N.H., on July 16 after police spent several days searching for him.
Dube’s last known address was in Auburn.
