AUBURN – Central Maine Community College announces its first Arts on the Lake camp, two weeks that exposes campers to a variety of fine art and performance media. Campus will participate in visual arts, wood, plaster and wire sculpture, screen printing, pottery, wheel thrown pottery, mask making, collage painting and traditional arts and crafts. Dance, music and story telling are also elements of the program.

The staff is led by Lisa Gilman, who teaches visual arts at Winthrop Middle School and has worked at several summer camp programs. She has created a developmentally responsive program for middle schools students and was recently published in “School of Art” magazine. She will be joined by area art teachers.

There will be two sessions to choose from: June 27 to July 8 or July 18 to 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $495, which includes lunches, snacks and a newly designed CM Summer Sports Camp T-shirt.
