LEWISTON – Due to an overwhelming response each year and in an effort to promote accessibility to all young girls and their dads, forms for The Public Theatre’s annual Father/Daughter Valentine Ball will be available from Monday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 12, at the theater during the box office hours for “A Christmas Carol.”

Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. The theater is located at Lisbon and Maple Streets.

Each season Valentine Ball tickets have officially gone on sale during the annual production of “A Christmas Carol.” Many people have been unaware of this in the past and received their flyer too late.

Clip-out forms will also appear in the Sun Journal on Sunday, Dec. 5, Wednesday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 10, and can be filled out and sent in. Forms will no longer be distributed through schools.

For those who have never attended the ball, it is a special fund-raising event created by The Public Theatre. Each year fathers and their daughters ages 4 to 12 are treated to a special evening of dancing and dressing up. Cookies and punch are served and music is provided by a DJ. Every girl receives a souvenir to take home.

This year the Valentine Ball will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Ramada Inn. Tickets for one father and one daughter are $35, with each additional daughter at a cost of $10. Wrist corsages for the girls are also available.

Each year the tickets sell out early, and the theater processes the reservation forms in the order they are received. Any payments received after the ball is sold out will be returned.
