AUBURN – A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after crashing his bike into the side of a pickup truck on Court Street shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday.

Rocky V. Crowley, 43, of 20 Third Ave., Mechanic Falls, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by ambulance.

He was listed in stable condition Sunday night, according to a nursing supervisor.

Police said Crowley’s 2004 Harley-Davidson left 141 feet of skid marks before slamming into the right side door of a 1999 Chevrolet pickup that was turning into Millett Drive.

Crowley’s speed leading up to the crash was estimated by police at more than 60 miles per hour.

The pickup was driven by Gile R. Courtemanche, 49, of 7 Deer Run Road, Greene.

Damage to Courtemanche’s truck was estimated at $1,000; to Crowley’s motorcycle, $14,500.
