Dear Sun Spots: Does Revlon still make Fire and Ice cologne? And secondly, is Emeril Lagasse’s Essence available for the public? – Elizabeth H., Rumford.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Revlon’s Web site indicates you can get it at Rite Aid in Gorham and they have confirmed they can order it for you. A half-ounce is $17; however not all Rite Aids are likely to be able to order it. If you find a Rite Aid, standing alone on its own property you are likely to be able to order it. Sun Spots would recommend you call the one nearest you. Another alternative is ordering it online at www.revlon.com or by calling their customer service department at 800-473-8566 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Regarding your second question: Sun Spots located the following recipe online and hopes you enjoy this one with your family:

Emeril Lagasse’s Essence. Ingredients: 5 tablespoons sweet paprika, ¼ cup salt, ¼ cup garlic powder, 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons onion powder, 2 tablespoons cayenne, 2 tablespoons dried oregano, 2 tablespoons dried thyme. Method: Combine all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and blend well. Store in an airtight container in your spice cabinet for up to 3 months.

You and your family may also enjoy the following Kicked-Up Country Breakfast Emeril Lagasse Style. Ingredients: ½ pound pork sausage, removed from casings; 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, more as needed; 1 cup chopped yellow onion; ½ cup chopped green bell peppers or red bell peppers; 1½ teaspoons spice Essence; ½ teaspoon hot sauce; ½ teaspoon salt; ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper; 2 teaspoons minced garlic; 1 large Idaho potato, peeled and cubed; ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley; 1 cup chicken stock; 4 large eggs; 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese; and hot toast or tortilla, for accompaniment.

Method: Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, stirring to crumble, until browned, about 3 minutes. Add the butter, and when melted, add the onions, bell peppers, 1 teaspoon of the Essence, the hot sauce, salt and pepper, and cook, stirring, until soft, about 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the potatoes (and additional butter if needed to prevent sticking), and cook, stirring, until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Add the parsley and chicken stock, stir well, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the potatoes are soft and stock is absorbed, about 10 minutes. With a spoon, make 4 indentations in the mixture, and break an egg into each. Cover and cook until the eggs are set, about 4 minutes. Sprinkle the eggs with the remaining ½ teaspoon of Essence and the cheese. Serve immediately with hot toast or tortillas.
