Dear Sun Spots: I have read your column and find it helpful. Now we would like to ask for help.

We are in need of donations of blankets for disaster relief for victims of fire, flood and such out West.

The Apostolic Holiness Church and Tabernacle of Faith are working together for these needed items to be sent to flood victims. We have everything else needed such as food, clothing and trucks to haul, but need blankets.

If there is anyone out there who would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate it. Please call (207) 897-2962 or (207) 998-5525. Thank you. – Rev. L. Hodgdon, Apostolic Holiness Church, Poland Spring.

Dear Sun Spots: Your column has been a great help to me finding places to donate useful objects and furniture.

I have something to give and two requests for readers:

My entry in the New England Cook recipe contest won me a Keurig single cup coffee maker and a year’s supply of Green Mountain coffee and tea. It is in its original packaging. I would like to offer it to a nonprofit organization that wants to make coffee or tea, one cup at a time.

My two requests: I am doing an art project and need about 50 compact mirrors, not the blush or powder, just the top half with the mirror.

I am also seeking an area source for millinery history and hardware. Are there any milliners out there? – Sheila Meader, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: Do you have the address for Blockbuster’s management?

We had an issue with the manager of that store, with no reply, and we’d like to speak to somebody over them. – B. White, Rumford.

Answer: Sun Spots spoke with John Krainin, co-owner of Endless Video, which owns more than 30 Blockbuster Video stores in New Hampshire and eastern Massachusetts.

Krainin recommends you contact district manager George Cushman, via mail or phone at BlockBuster Video, 750 Corporate Park, Pembroke, MA 02359, (781) 826-1200 at ext. 112. Krainin describes Cushman as experienced and very responsive. He is confident Cushman can resolve the matter for you.

Cushman reports to Rick Allen whom you can reach through the same address or phone number. He’s at ext. 128. And, if you receive no success with either of those, Krainin assures me that you can also contact him. Again, he can be reached at the same address and phone number. His extension is 116 and, yes, he answers his own phone.

Dear Sun Spots: About how to rinse clothes better to get rid of urine smell: Don’t pack the machine full and put an extra rinse on the clothes. I always rinse our clothes twice anyway. – A Reader, No Town.
