LEWISTON – Members of the city’s legislative delegation are inviting residents to visit them at the Lewiston Mall on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Reps. Margaret Craven, Richard Mailhot, Elaine Makas, Lillian LaFontaine O’Brien, and William Walcott, all Democrats, will joins Sens. Neria Douglass, D-Auburn and Peggy Rotundo, D-Lewiston, at the mall in hosting monthly open-door hours to allow constituents to discuss pending legislation and issues of interest.

In an effort to increase accessibility to constituents, area lawmakers will resume hosting monthly open-door hours the first Saturday of each month, except for January, while the Legislature is in session. This year the session is expected to adjourn early, in April. The legislative session begins Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Residents unable to visit the mall who want to talk with their state representative or senator may call the message centers in Augusta during session days. That toll-free phone number for the House of Representatives is 1-800-423-2900, and it’s 1-800-423-6900 for the Senate.
