LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecile Brouillette was held Thursday at Holy Cross Church, with the Rev. Daniel Greenleaf celebrating the Mass and reciting committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. During Mass the burial pall was placed on Cecile’s casket by her granddaughters, Kim Phillips and Karen Despres. Cecile’s daughter-in-law, Marjorie Brouillette then placed Cecile’s favorite flower, a single stem rose on the casket. Readings were read by her grandson, Dr. Richard Brouillette, by her granddaughter, Kim Phillips and her husband, Dr. Jonathon Phillips. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by granddaughter, Karen Despres and her husband, Joseph Despres. Besides the Holy Cross Choir, soloist, Shawna Vaillancourt sang “How Great Thou Art,” “In the Garden” and “He Lives,” accompanied by organist Charles Marshall. A delegation from the Auburn School Department was also in attendance. At the conclusion of Mass, Cecile’s son, Richard Brouillette shared words of remembrance of his mother. Pallbearers were Dr. Richard Brouillette, Dr. Jonathan Phillips, Joseph Despres, Donald Demers, Lucien Marcoux and Moe Gagne. After committal prayers, a reception of fellowship was held at Rolandeau’s Restaurant in Auburn. Arrangements by Pinette Funeral Chapel.
