LEWISTON — Amos “Ace” Don, who was arrested Tuesday in connection with the killing of a local woman in Boston, was indicted in Androscoggin County a day later on unrelated charges.
Don, 23, was charged Wednesday with burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into the home of a Lewiston man in September and stealing a clock and fax machine.
Investigators said the break-in occurred Sept. 26.
In the Androscoggin County grand jury indictment handed up Wednesday, Don was also ordered to forfeit $1,722 police said was used in a deal for crack cocaine, which occurred in September as well.
Don was being held at the Cumberland County Jail on other charges out of Portland. He was at the jail Wednesday afternoon when police from Boston charged him with murder in the Aug. 25 shooting death of 29-year-old Erica Field, of Lewiston.
Don is expected to be returned to Suffolk County, Mass., to face the murder charge, as well as charges stemming from the shooting of Field’s boyfriend, Shameek Garcia, who survived his wounds.
