Ashley and Gary

Gochenour

LIVERMORE FALLS — The historic Moose Hill Free Will Baptist Church on Moose Hill was the setting for the Oct. 4 wedding of Ashley Dustin Pelletier of Fayette and E-4 Gary William Gochenour, U.S. Army, Ft. Polk, La. The location was especially meaningful to the couple as the church was established in “The Old Homestead” home of the bride’s paternal ancestors in 1828.

The piano and bass prelude by the bride’s paternal grandparents, Dick and Becky Pelletier of Fayette, included “Ashoken Farewell,” composed by family friend, Jay Unger, “If You Were the Only Girl in the World” and other selections.

The bride was escorted down the aisle and given in marriage by her two grandfathers, Lee Strout and Dick Pelletier. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Hall.

The bodice of the bride’s strapless gown was adorned with bead work and the deeply tiered skirt fell into the attached train. Her bouquet, created by her aunt, Lori Bonnevie, and family friend, Katie Mosher, was of yellow, orange and burgundy roses with blue statis, ivy and baby’s breath. Tucked into her bouquet was her “something old, something blue,” which was a delicate rose from the arrangement for her late father in 1985.

Samantha Hills of Augusta, best friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Flower girls were Felicia Heinzley of Augusta and Kylie Smith of Turner.

Brian Bell of Elyria, Ohio, best friend of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ring bearers were Ethan and Evan Pelletier of Livermore, cousins of the bride.

The reception was held at the Carriage House in Livermore. Decorations and catering were done by members of the Strout, Turner and Frailey families. The three-tier wedding cake was topped with one of Susan Lorde’s hand-carved Willow people figurines of a couple in an embrace. The hair of the bride was painted by Mrs. Pelletier to match the bride’s auburn tresses. Mrs. Pelletier also made the cake, which was decorated in an autumn theme by Erin Morrell of Jay, sister of the bride.

Mrs. Gochenour is the daughter of Roxanne Turner and the late Derrick L.Pelletier, both of Fayette. She is a 2003 graduate of Maranacook Consolidated High School in Readfield and is a certified animal control officer.

Mr. Gochenour is the son of Peggy Ann and the late William Gochenour of Elyria, Ohio. He is a graduate of the Open Door Christian School of Elyria and attended Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The couple is at home in DeRidder, La. When Mr. Gochenour is discharged from the Army, they will relocate to Cleveland, where he will enter the pre-med program at Cleveland State University.
