Barbara Phillips Burbank
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — Barbara Phillips Burbank, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Beaumont Senior Living Center, after a brief illness.
She was born in Farmington, the daughter of Rosa and Melzer Phillips. Married on March 25, 1947, she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene H. Burbank in 1992.
She was a graduate of Strong High School and Bliss Business College in Lewiston. Her close friendship with the “Y” girls at that time continued until her death. A long time resident of Auburn, she was an executive secretary to the designer of Bates Manufacturing Co. and later became an administrative assistant to the president.
She and her husband spent many happy summers at their home on Pleasant Pond in Turner. She loved her home, garden, crossword puzzles, the Red Sox, Celtics and most of all, her cats.
Survivors include her sister, Elizabeth and husband, William Beard, of South Yarmouth, Mass.; sister-in-law, Isabelle (Floyd) Milbank of Loudonville, N.Y.; nephews, William Beard Jr. of Fort Myers, Fla., Stephen Beard of Cupertino, Calif., and John Milbank of Westborough, Mass.; niece, Anne Barresi of Latham, N.Y.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
