Lorraine Y. Laganiere
1943 – 2010
LEWISTON — Lorraine Yvette Laganiere, 66, of Webster Street, Auburn, passed with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center, after courageously fighting multiple illnesses.
She was born March 30, 1943, in Lewiston, the daughter of Arthur F. and Blanche G. (Labbe) Picard Sr. She attended Lewiston parochial schools. Later she worked for several shoe shops, where she met her soul mate, Ronald F.X. Laganiere and married on April 20, 1968.
Her greatest fulfillment was becoming a homemaker and raising her four children. With her husband, she was actively involved with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed vacationing with her family to many states, while her husband was in the military. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bingo and had a great love for crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald F.X. Laganiere; her four children, Patrick R. Laganiere and his wife, Barbara and their three children, Brandon, Lillian and Noah of Rochester N.H., Normand F. Laganiere and his girlfriend, Jaime, of Berlin, N.H., Nancy Herard and her husband, David, of Gorham, N.H., and Maurice J. Laganiere and his fiancee, Amanda, of Bangor; a brother, Arthur Picard Jr. and his wife, Marie, of Leeds; a sister, Constance LeVasseur and her husband, Gene, of Columbia, S.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur F. and Blanche G. Picard Sr.; and her sister, Doris S. Picard.
The family wants to extend their gratitude toward the special care provided by the staff in ICU at CMMC and the Adams House staff and Rehab and Therapy Center at Marshwood.
