The Lewiston legislative delegation recently honored Madeleine LeBlanc at the State House in Augusta. LeBlanc performed the National Anthem to begin the House session. LeBlanc, a lifelong Lewiston resident, began singing as a child in both French and English at public events in and around Lewiston. She now performs regularly with “Just Us” at the Franco-American Heritage Center and at Veterans Day and Fourth of July festivities. She has performed at the State House several times including at the Legislature’s annual Franco Day, which was held on March 17. Pictured, from left, are Rep. Mike Lajoie, Rep. Peggy Rotundo, Sen. Margaret Craven, LeBlanc, Rep. Mike Carey and Rep. Dick Wagner.
