To celebrate African-American History Month, Carmen Dufresne, Molly Tripp, Ernie Gagne and Terrie Ouellette’s fourth-grade students at Geiger Elementary School researched and made posters of African-Americans who reflected a wide range of educational, artistic, historical and professional expertise. In addition, students wrote research papers on their chosen person and presented an oral report to their classmates and their parents on a day of celebration which took place on Feb. 12. Pictured from left are Alexander Rivet, with B.B. King; Samuel Gagnon, with Jimi Hendrix; Alexis DiFillipo, with Rosa Parks; and Brianna Morin, with Sojourner Truth.
