Ronn Deschaines of Auburn rides his Segway in Kennedy Park in Lewiston on Friday. Deschaines said he has gotten rid of his car and has let his driver’s license expire because his machine has given him a lot of freedom from the usual expenses attributed to transportation. Deschaines often takes his Segway on the train to Boston and has his own transportation around the city.
