At the 25th annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, 117 kids scrambled to find plastic eggs filled with candy and certificates from many sponsors at the East Sumner Congregational Church in Sumner. The children received prizes, including toothbrushes, apples, toys and refreshments, after the hunt.
Twenty-five years ago, Michelle Wallace, right, came to the first egg hunt at the Congregational Church in Sumner. On Saturday, she brought her own two children to the event, which was attended by 117 children, the largest group to date. Erica Stevens, who also attended the hunt as a child, brought her children, Cameron and Jasmyn.
Lee Berry is honored with a gift Saturday for the 25th anniversary of the Easter egg hunt that she organized in Sumner. Jodie Mauro, president of the Mother’s Club, which sponsors the hunt, presented the award as husband Don Berry and daughter Laura looked on.
Aden Pepin has a basket of eggs that he found at the Easter egg hunt in Sumner on Saturday. The plastic eggs were filled with candy and prizes. It was the 25th year for the egg hunt sponsored by the Mother’s Club.
