The Special Delivery Family Birthing Center at Bridgton Hospital hosted its open house and birth year 2009 photo on April 24. Crystal Drew RN, clinical coordinator of the center, along with her nursing staff, hosted the event in the clinic lobby of the hospital. All 125 babies born in 2009 were invited and photographer Jennifer Bartlett took individual photographs of the babies as well as the group photo. Dr. Lisa Ryan, Bridgton Pediatrics, an advocate of the Raising Readers program, read several books to the babies. In addition to information and education about the Birth Center, tours of the private maternity suites were provided, baby sized cupcakes and animal crackers were served and all babies and children were given a sand pail and shovel for summer fun.
