NORWAY — Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that Stephens Memorial Hospital registered nurse Shannon Staples, RN-C, who works on The Family Birthplace, has become certified in inpatient obstetrics.
The two-day intensive program and examination, developed by the National Certification Corporation, focuses heavily on labor and fetal assessment.
Staples has been employed at the Family Birthplace for 10 years; she has been a nurse for 32 years. She earned her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
