Simard-Fournier of Lewiston is the wife of Paul Simard, a Lewiston police officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1958. She married Fournier 43 years after the death of her first husband. Ray and Barb Payne, left, are the parents of David Payne, a Lewiston police officer who was killed in 1988. They travel from Schroon Lake, N.Y., each year for the ceremony. “This means a lot to us, ” Ray Payne said.
