John Kilonis, who has many friends in this city, will arrive today from Boston, where he has been training with Demetral, the Greek demon wrestler and champion 180-pound man of the world. Kilonis is in the game to stay and he is in training all the time. He is a young man who does not chew, smoke or drink. He will meet anyone at 155 to 165, bar none. He has met many wrestlers who said that they could trim him, but it has never been done as yet. A big crowd will attend the match at Lake Grove Thursday night.

A Lewiston police officer got all messed up the other night while transporting a dog to the kennels.

The police officer was driving along, minding his own business, when the dog got up from the back seat, put his front paws against the front seat and proceeded to get very sick — all over the unprotected officer.

They are still chuckling about it down at headquarters.

LIVERMORE A fire which destroyed the oldest building on the Norlands Living History Center grounds early Friday morning was of suspicious origin, an investigator with the state Fire Marshal’s Office said Friday night.

Most of the physical evidence was destroyed along with the one-room 1823 schoolhouse, said Stephen Dixon, who combed the rubble with local firefighters.

In addition to the building, the flames consumed reproductions of old school books as well as desks, benches, a stove and ink bottles dating back to the 19th century.
