BALTIMORE (AP) – A religious cult member accused of starving her 1-year-old son to death is making an unusual deal with prosecutors – she wants her guilty plea to be withdrawn if her child is resurrected.

Ria Ramkissoon, 22, also agreed Monday to testify against four other members of the now-defunct religious group known as 1 Mind Ministries. They are charged with first-degree murder in the starvation death of Javon Thompson.

According to a statement of facts read in court, the cult members stopped feeding the boy when he refused to say “Amen” after a meal.

After Javon died, Ramkissoon sat next to his body and prayed for his resurrection. Her attorney, Steven Silverman, says she still believes the boy will come back to life.

She pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death.
