WILTON — Selectman Irv Faunce kept his seat after a recount of votes was taken Monday morning.

Faunce was challenged by Kyle Ellis and Jan Stinson for the position. Following municipal elections last week, Faunce was two votes ahead of Ellis who asked for the recount.

In a final tally Monday, Faunce gained five votes and Ellis gained one vote, said Town Clerk Linda Jellison.

Initially, Faunce garnered 440 votes but the recount revealed he actually had 445 votes, she said. Ellis initially had 438 votes and ended up with 439.
