FARMINGTON — Franklin Community Health Network announces that accountant Melanie Meader, FHFMA, CPA, recently became a fellow from the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Fewer than 1,700 HFMA members nationwide have achieved this accomplishment, which is indicative of her personal commitment to excellence within the profession of health care financial management.
To become an FHFMA, a person must be credentialed as a certified health care financial professional; be an HFMA member for at least five years; complete a bachelor’s degree or 120 semester hours from an accredited college or university; volunteer in HFMA or the industry; and provide a reference from a fellow in HFMA or current officer of the local chapter.
Meader is the current vice president of the Maine chapter of HFMA and co-chair of the program committee. She also serves on the Maine chapter’s membership and audit committees.
As controller at Franklin Community Health Network, Meader oversees the network’s financial affairs, particularly the accounting, reporting and control functions. Meader has been employed at Franklin Community Health Network for five years and resides in Belgrade.
