LEWISTON — A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Marie Blanche Parent was celebrated by Monsignor Marc Caron Friday morning at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
Before Mass, Blanche’s son, Bruce Parent, placed his mother’s Rosary on her urn.
During Mass, readings were proclaimed by Blanche’s granddaughter, Alison Parent, and the Prayer of the Faithful was proclaimed by Lenny Farinas. The Offertory Gifts were brought to the altar by Jaime LeBlanc and her husband, Jesse LeBlanc. Words of Remembrance were shared by Blanche’s daughter and son, Joan Nason and Bill Parent. The funeral procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery went past the former Parent family residence on First Street, in honor of the many happy memories their family will always cherish growing up there.
Committal prayers were recited by Monsignor Caron at St. Peter’s Cemetery followed by Blanches’s son, Bill, reading a poem his Aunt Madeline asked him to read to conclude services. All were then invited by Bill to join the Parent family for a reception of fellowship at the Hilton Garden Inn River Watch in Auburn. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
