FARMINGTON – Irwin “Les” Ward, 72, a resident of Fayette and formerly of Leeds, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at Sandy River Center in Farmington. He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Lewiston, the son of Charlotte (Holt) Draper and Irvin Towle Ward. He attended school in Leeds and graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1964. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married Andrea Burgess in Monmouth. They were married for 45 years before her passing on Nov. 15, 2010. Irwin worked at the Winthrop Water District for many years and later worked as an electrician for Don’s Electric in Monmouth. He was an active member of the Leeds Nazarene Church and in recent years attended the Fayette Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loving his guinea pigs. He is survived by his daughters; Lisa Freeman and her husband, Glenn, of Fayette, Vicky Brents and her husband, Rodney, of Richmond and Amy Brooks and her husband, Mark, of Farmingdale, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and his brothers; Arlando Ward of Oklahoma and Peter Draper of Farmington. He was predeceased by his mother, Charlotte Draper; stepfather, Linwood Draper his wife, Andrea Ward; and grandson, Dustin Michael. The family wishes to offer their thanks to the staff at Sandy River Center for their kindness, compassion and care of Les.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m., Jan. 19, at FAYETTE BAPTIST CHURCH, 39 Baldwin Hill Road, Fayette, Maine.
