Heywood Club

NORWAY — The Heywood Club of Crockett Ridge will hold its annual public supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14. The menu will include chicken pies, casseroles, baked beans, pies and much more. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for ages 5 and under.

Bag sale

HARTFORD – The Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will have a bag sale from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. The clothing center is located on Church Street, directly opposite the Hartford Community Church.

Trustee meeting

PARIS – The Paris Utility District monthly trustees meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Paris Utility District Office, 1 Paris Hill Road.

Museum hours

HARTFORD – The Hartford Heritage Society and J.O. Irish Museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays during August. The museum has an array of memorabilia and items from the past. They have a book on loan, “Maine At Gettysburg,” and people are welcome to view the book to find out if a family member fought at Gettysburg.

The annual ice cream social will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29. For more information, call Arlene at 224-7355 or Beulah at 597-2073.

Blood drive

NORWAY — The American Red Cross, working with co-sponsors from St. Catherine’s and Christ Episcopal churches will host a blood drive from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Potential donors are asked to make an appointment by calling Rosalie at 743-7388 or the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins will also be taken, but will be scheduled around the people who have made appointments.

Eligible donors must be in good health, at least 17-years-old and weigh at least 110 pounds. On the day of donation blood donors must bring a donor card, a driver’s license or two forms of identification. Donors should also bring a list of medications, wear a shirt with sleeves that can be rolled up to the elbow and drink plenty of fluids before donating.
