LEWISTON — Dr. Myra Ross has been hired as staff physician for the hospice and palliative care program at Androscoggin Home Healthcare + Hospice.

She is also the site director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chelsea, a shared program with Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Ross was one of the pioneer hospice and palliative medicine fellows in Maine, having graduated as one of the first two fellows in the Maine Medical Center/VA Maine Fellowship program’s inaugural year in 2014.

She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she also served as chief resident.

Ross is from Van Buren in Aroostook County, and expressed a “long-treasured kinship with the Franco-American community,” growing up speaking Franglais within her family.
