WILTON — The last in a series of three programs on Community Revitalization will be held at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the Wilson Lake Inn.

This program will focus on how communities find a shared vision, what other communities are doing, leadership/partnership of organizations within the community, and how to find funding and grant opportunities.

The first two programs, focusing on community branding, heritage tourism, and business and economic development, had good turnouts and generated some enthusiastic conversation.

Members of The Wilton Group recently attended the Revitalizing Maine Communities conference held by the Maine Development Foundation. The group was able to attend the workshops through a grant from Franklin Savings Bank, and have been sharing what they learned with the community through these programs.

The Wilton Group has been working with the town to invite representatives from the Wilton community and civic organizations, businesses and town government to attend. If you would like to attend, please email info@wiltongroup.org or call 779-9026.

The Wilton Group was formed to bring together all types of people, businesses, and organizations in Wilton to work together to stimulate more interest in community-based involvement, support local business, and project a positive image of the town and region. Its mission is to “preserve, enhance and promote the unique character of Wilton by facilitating communication, engagement, and cooperation within our community.” The group may be reached through its web site www.wiltongroup.org or e-mail info@wiltongroup.org
