This is in reference to a story printed Aug. 28, “Lutherans split over gay pastors, beliefs,” on the religion page.

You can label me homophobic, intolerant, narrow and closed-minded, however, a knucklehead I am not.

The situation that is taking place in that church, and other denominations, is a bunch of baloney. The Christian church, as a whole, is moving away from the authority of the holy scriptures and is committing spiritual adultery.

It is true that many religious leaders have bowed to the pressure of preaching a gospel of acceptance, rather than the gospel of redemption in the name of love.

My question to those deceivers: Where is their love for God, the Bible and the lost?

In order for the scriptures to take hold and change lives, it must be preached in its full authority.

The Rev. Douglas Taylor, Lewiston
