Cut-athon on Monday

AUBURN — A cut-athon will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 13, at Gregory’s Salon, Shaw’s Plaza, Center Street. The event will benefit Greg Lambert, 28, who has cystic fibrosis. Lambert and his wife, Tamra, reside in Greene.

All proceeds of a regularly-priced haircut will be donated to Lambert to assist with medical expenses. For more information about the cut-athon, contact the salon at 786-0112.

Basketball tourney

LEWISTON — A free Back 2 School Jump-Off Basketball Tournament will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, in Kennedy Park.

The event will be hosted by Play-Lead-Achieve-Educate (P.L.A./ED), an organization focused on serving urban youth by using basketball to promote education and community service.
