Dog obedience
AUBURN — Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start another six-week dog obedience class on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2-months-old and vaccinated. The beginners class is at 6:30 p.m. and advanced at 7:30 p.m. For more information and to register, call the club’s trainer, Diane Harrington, at 784-7578.
Fire safety
POLAND — Local firefighters, along with researchers from Underwriters Laboratory and firefighters from the Chicago Fire Department, will host a seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Poland Regional High School. The seminar will educate families on how to recognize the fire danger their home is exposed to, and ways to better protect themselves in the event of a fire.
Modern lightweight construction techniques combined with modern furnishings contribute to fires that consume residential homes within minutes. For those who own or live in a home that was built or remodeled within the last decade, the home may be very likely “built to burn.” The seminar is open to the public.
Memorial garden
LEWISTON — Trinity Episcopal Church will dedicate its new Community Memorial Garden at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26. The church is located at 247 Bates St.

They will be invited to throw it into the blazing fireplace and then tell the story connected to that particular piece of wood.
The museum is located at 442 Turner Road, across from Leavitt Institute and next to the old Town Hall. For more information, call 225-3998.
