It is understood that petitions are soon to be circulated in Sabattus for the signatures of all persons who wish to have Sabattus set apart as an annex to Lewiston. The matter has been quietly agitated for some time, but at last a point has been reached when the petitions are about to be circulated.
There are many who believe that it would be to the mutual benefit of Lewiston and Sabattus, if the latter should become a part of the former. It would add considerably to the population of this city and it is believed would tend to greatly build up the sections between the two places.

Anti-influenza “shots” will be given to Lewiston fire fighters, Chief Roland C. Dumais reported yesterday.
The inoculations at Central Fire Station are to be administered by Dr. Cyprien L. Martel, fire department surgeon, assisted by Health Officer Cecile Levasseur and her staff.

A new foot beat patrol and special emphasis on Lewiston’s Kennedy Park-Knox Street area during the summer resulted in dozens of arrests and summonses for offenses ranging from drugs to motor vehicles, Police Chief Gregory C. Hanscom announced Friday.
In a special “selective enforcement” action during June, July and August, 80 people were arrested and another 129 were summonsed by police patrolling Kennedy Park and Knox Street.
